Network Resilience Manager Transport Scotland

ain is currently Network Resilience Manager at Transport Scotland and has 25 years’ experience in Winter Service as well as Trunk Roads Network Management, Operations and Maintenance.

Leading on innovation, research and the development of Quality management in Winter Service, Iain represents Transport Scotland on the National Winter Service Research Group (NWSRG) as well as the European Winter Group and the SCOTS Winter sub-group.

Combined with working with Transport Scotland’s 10 Operating Companies and DBFOs units to deliver the Winter Service on 3,507km of Trunk Road Network and  the development of Winter Service in the new NMC (5G) Contracts, current projects include the ongoing research and development of liquid brine treatments and the use of alternative de-icers, the installation of a Winter Service RWIS trail site on the M8 at Duntilland and the evolution of the Winter fleet, and improvement in logistics and communications in the delivery of Winter Service.
